Default OLT Corruption in UnixWare and Data Loss

The superblock is considered as the main part of the UnixWare operating system as it contains certain information about the most critical part of the system-File System. The superblock is the repository of the information like file system type, creation and modification dates, disk layout version number of the file system and lots many.

The OLT (Object Location Table) is an extension of the superblock. This retains the information which is used at the time when we mount the file system. This information is useful to locate the file system structures that are not in fixed locations. This comprises of information like fileset header inodes, initial inode list extent addresses etc. The OLT occupies its space on the hard disk just after the superblock.

The information stored in the OLT is much crucial so this is replicated and then stored after the intent log. But in few cases when this OLT gets damaged you encounter some sort of error messages like:

    fsck -F vxfs -m /dev/vgb03/rlvol1
vxfs fsck: sanity check failed: file system on /dev/vgb03/rlvol1 has structural damage

    fsck -F vxfs -o full /dev/vgb03/rlvol1
vxfs fsck: OLT extent 0 has bad checksum
    read of primary OLT failed
vxfs fsck: OLT extent 1 has bad checksum
    read of OLT copy failed
vxfs fsck: no valid OLT, cannot continue
file system check failure, aborting ...

This can be the result of the improper system shutdown, file system damage or similar reasons but the inability to access the data can really put you out of business. In this case the need of UnixWare data recovery steps in.

The data plays the key factor for the functioning of any organization and losing it anyway is not acceptable. Thus the reliable tool which can end up at perfect and safe UnixWare recovery is required.

You can have [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] through the help of UnixWare data recovery software which are able to scan your hard drive and retrieve the data. Usually the interactive user interface of these data recovery UnixWare software makes the part of the user easier.

Stellar Phoenix SCO UnixWare - Data Recovery Software is the utility which is applicable in each case of data loss. This advance built UnixWare recovery software uses the most powerful scanning algorithms to end the job.

This [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] UnixWare software can be used for VxFS [Veritas File System - VxFS1, VxFS2 & VxFS4] and UFS File systems. This represents the files into a tree format and so gives you an option of selective UnixWare data recovery.

Just check out the efficiency of the software and see how much of your data is recoverable through the demo version of the software. You can download it from Stellar’s website.
